Ball made out of sticks? - hill walking sticks
I live in California, and I went through the hills and found a ball (the size of a tennis ball) made of bent and twisted clubs. No other club has just folded. I do not know where it comes from and how it was done, and I wonder if anyone knows what it is?

It was such a thing - http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbvie ...? This is a rattan ball and only decorative. You can find them in stores for interior decoration for a few pounds.
